Anyone here minoring in something? Do you think it's beneficial to have a minor at all? I think it's a good way to get credit for taking studies that benefit your job in the future personally. Opinions?

I think it depends on your major. Also, if you can easily get a minor without having to take too many more credit hours then its worth it
i actually wanted to ask the same question so im glad i found this, i'm curious about how you think your minor affects getting your job so much. i currently decided to get two majors instead of a minor, but i'm not sure if i should add a minor or not.
I guess it all depends on how many credits per semester you are willing to put in.
Minors are an excellent way to study things that you want to study, but don't technically count for your major.
I think that they also probably help prepare for future jobs if its in a related discipline.
I think it is worth it, so long as the minor supplements your major. For example, I am majoring in political science and legal studies. So, I addd a minor in communications to help improve my communication techniques. Which I believe is very valuable.
I had three minors and I know that they have helped me tremendously with my majors.
And grad, professional schools, and employers are always looking for people who are well-rounded and minors really help flesh out your curriculum.
And like Kira said, they also allow you to develop skills that you've always wanted to develop and could be beneficial to you in the future in general but don't directly tie in to your major.
Minors sometimes feel like a more condensed program yet I don't think they get enough respect in the working world.
True story.
I am minoring in biology.
