Random Thoughts
I HATE MAC's....i am a big PC fan. I cant stand macs at all. They are difficult to use and are less compatible with other programs. How do you guys feel?

i'm with you, i hate macs but i love my PCs!
Macs may be a bit more complex than PCs, but at the same time, I have had so much trouble w/my PCs in the past that having a Mac is just easier. Not to mention they are so much smaller and easier to carry around.
Im a mac fan through and through once you make the adjustments from the old PC shortcuts mac is easier to use
i will admit that i wish more programs and applications were available for mac
you can get small pcs. i have heard that once you learn to use them macs are good. i'm still sticking by my pc though
I used a PC my whole life, until 3 weeks ago when I bought a Mac. It is SO much easier to use than a PC, it's a lot faster too. I'm enjoying it a lot....proud to say I'm now a Mac, not a PC!
What is the point in HATING either side. It is a product. GET OVER IT. I am sick of hearing all of this garbage. They both have their benefits and restrictions. Here, why don't I create a quick chart of all this since I use the big three (OSX / Windows 7/ Linux) in different variations.
Windows 7 (I personally use Win 7 64 bit)
-Large software database
-Relative Stability
-Hardware Compatability
-Common Usage
OSX (Leopard: Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to upgrade but I changes are somewhat minor)
-Stability
-Closed Architecture (in some ways this can be a benefit)
-General Support (I am basing this merely on the fact that a user is required only to call a single company. In the case of custom machines built on a different platform, it can be quite a hassle to contact individual vendors. This is merely convenience.)
Linux (Currently Using Ubuntu Netbook Remix)
-It's Free
-Security
As for the negatives I will state this, both OSX and Windows can be taken down by malware or viruses quite easily. It is simply a matter of userbase when it comes down to it. Over 80% of the market is using Windows macines, therefore those with devious intentions will prefer to make their program accessable to the largest portion of the market. If the two major operating systems' places were switched, the exact same situation would occur that is going on today. However, as Apple's marketshare continues to increase, we will see more threats directed towards Cupertino.
As for Linux, it's a fun operating system but not for everyone. The learnig curve can be steep when it comes to true functionality but nothing comes close in terms of value (it's free!)
In the end, it is simply up to personal preference.

I use both Mac and pc...I agree with J G that they both have their unique strengths and weaknesses. It appears that Windows is trying to look like mac with all of their recent additions. I have not had a chance to use the new operating system but from what I've seen, aesthetically, it is similar to mac - functionality wise, no comparison I am sure!
I like PCs, but it may be because I'm just used to using them. I like how you can maximize and minimize windows on PC. I never got used to the doc and such on Macs.
The only time I've used Macs was on school computers, which always run slowly... but that is also true for school computers that are PCs. I guess the main thing is PCs are more main stream and less expensive. Most people who have Macs purchase it from Apple or a store, it's rare to see someone build a computer and put Mac on it.
I do wish that I could build a system that could have both windows and osx on it. Unfortunately, the reason the macintosh platform works so well is because it is designed to run on a very small selection of hardware. It can be done on different hardware but then you end up with missing drivers or other small problems. On the other side, windows works on pretty much anything but there are also a million small problems that Microsoft has and hardware developers have to solve everyday to keep things operational.
I have a pc an i like it better than mac. Im sure macs are good but i like pcs becaus for me theyre easier to use
Well personally I think it's not really a fair comparison that can be effectively made. After all it comes down to personal choice, I think in terms of functionality both of them are similar (for people who are decent with technology) the difference comes down to style. Personally, I have tried both and stick to PC with a dual boot with linux.
Linux offers me some of the same functionality of a mac (like with the terminal) but at the same time allows me to customize its style. While windows allows me compatibility with the rest of the world.
Though one thing that I think is really good about apple, is that even though their considered "not open" they actually do push the rest of the world to innovation.
mac all the way
I use PCs never owned a mac
