Does Latin really help with standardized tests?

Test Prep
I'm taking Latin as an elective b/c i have extra space in my schedule and i hear that it helps with testing (I will soon be taking the LSAT and GRE). Anyone on here who's taken Latin and any of these tests have any opinion? Does it actually help? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it.

I think so- I just know a little bit, but even that helped me figure out some scientific terms or legal terms like HABEUS CORPOUS. I think it would be worth knowing
ive taken the GRE but i havent taken Latin, but i do feel that it may help in the vocab. But if your taking Latin just for that reason, I dont think its worth it
i've heard that latin helps with the standardized testing as well, so i think it would be smart. even if you have ids on a test and you can figure out the root of the word and what that means i think it would be worth it.
Latin does help to some extent, but only if you have a firm grasp of the english language in the first place. Learning when and where latin can be applicable can be helpful when confronted with new vocabulary. Also, the logical formatting of the language lends itself to logical argument structure (logical reasoning) which is key on the Lsat. Overall, I would say it helps too some extent, but won't help you pull a miracle. If you have some extra space, and think you can handle it, I would definately encourage it.
I think it's a very low-yield way to go about studying. For more high-yield studying, just take a bunch of practice tests.
I agree. Go with practice tests rather than general vocabulary.
I imagine that although it might help with figuring out words, its only if you can actually apply it and figure it out, otherwise I think you'd be better off using that extra space in your schedule to take practice tests
