I agree to some degree. I am tired of hearing about it, I am truly surprised it has lasted this long. I feel like most reality shows or talent shows of the like have their fifteen minutes of fame and then its done for. However, American Idol has hung on for quite some time. It is almost impressive.

That's because Americans are obsessed with the power of 'the celebrity.' I am sick of it. Celebrities are put on pedestals as role models, heroes, etc...yet there is very little goodness to be learned from them. That's just my opinion.

what's even more ironic is that the second runners up eventually get some sort of record deal too, sometimes even turn out better than the actual winner

Ever since the very first season, the top 12-16 have all gotten contracts. It's stupid. It's ridiculous.

did anyone watch VH1's show Supergroup? Sebastian Bach called out American Idol on stage- it was awesome

I never like AI and never will. I honestly watched the finale this year becuase of all the other singers that they had on but that's the only episode I watched.

I don't even know how many seasons it's been now or if anyone still watches it. I feel like it's time for the show to go away.
